Pretty good. Had no idea this place existed. Thank goodness for Yelp! When looking for a place for my hubby & I to grab some food, it came up in my search. So we headed on over.
We tried the Chicago fried shrimp, the cat fish, the ocean perch, hush puppies and potato pancakes. We shared everything. And it was pretty tasty considering we're right smack in the Midwest - far, far from any ocean.
Service was great. We were greeted with a friendly smile right away, and our food was out relatively quickly for freshly fried to order. -

Well what can i say .. they do what they do well enough but this place is not to for me.
The shrimp seems to be the cooked shrimp (pink) that they battered and refried, hence the taste of the shrimp not fresh and chewy.
The batter is to much and the seasoning in lacking on both varieties. I ordered the jumbo shrimp, the catfish and the chicago syle shrimp.. $18 and I was glad to pay it the time of ordering. They do not offer combos, i didn't like that. The customer service was a 6 after i warmed up the staff by making conversation, they were busy ragging on the owner and placement of stock, at the front counter. This place offers an experience for customers that are NOT familiar with fresh and well prepared shrimp and fish. I may try again but not likely. -

Hot and tasty! I came in and got a Chicago shrimp dinner, and it hit the spot. Only gripes are it could use a bit more seasoning and the place smelled like a bait shop. That being said I would be back to try other items.

Chicago Shrimp? What is this nonsense?
Yes, I'd never heard of such sorcery before, because well... One doesn't equate Chicago with Gulf seafood. Well, I was wrong. Yes, I can be wrong once (a day). Yelp to the rescue as usual on my travels across the world, and if you follow me at all, you'll know that I don't do chains or food that I can have anywhere else, so this "Chicago Shrimp" thing had to be done.
Immediately I walk in, and the cute girl helps me figure out that I needed to order the Chicago Shrimp, which happens to be a garlic'y batter for an otherwise normal shrimp, which is not normal here. These shrimp are big, not shrimp-shaped, not stiff like frozen shrimp, and these guys are sweet for their size. Very nice. I ordered a combo with slaw and fries, both of which were really good in their own right.
Since I visit this area at least once a year, I am definitely coming back to this location since it isn't available anywhere else that I had traveled previously. Yeah, it's a little hole-in-the-wall, but you get great taste for not a lot of money. -
